The activities of the WWF Marine Turtle Rescue Center in Molfetta were discussed during the 42nd International Symposium in Thailand on the Biology and Conservation of Sea Turtles, held from March 24 to 29, 2024. The center was represented by the Department of Veterinary Medicine of Bari, the University of Pisa, and WWF International.

Professor Antonio Di Bello from the University of Bari presented a study on gas embolism, while Professor Paolo Casale from the University of Pisa discussed the TED (Turtle Excluder Device), a tool useful for saving turtles from accidental capture in trawl nets, in collaboration with the Bisceglie fishing community. Anna Barbati from WWF International illustrated two important projects: LIFE (Euroturtles) and Med Turtles, both partially realized with the Molfetta Center.
