The sea is the essential core for preserving marine biodiversity in the marine and coastal reserve of the northern islands of the Kirqana archipelago. The archipelago is one of the most important places where sea turtles can be found. This migratory animal risks accidental interactions with fishing activities. That’s why we should raise awareness among our sailors to help save these creatures, which play a significant role in maintaining the marine environmental balance. This time, the sailors of the Kirqana archipelago found an injured and debilitated turtle, which was rescued by the Association Kraten du Développement Durable, de la Culture et des Loisirs (AKDDCL) and subsequently transferred to the Marine Turtle Conservation Center at the Faculty of Sciences of Sfax, where it will receive the necessary care.
