On June 17, a turtle (Caretta caretta) came out to lay her eggs on the coast of Arenales del Sol, Elche.
The University of Valencia – UV (Jesús Tomás LIFE Medturtles), XALOC, and Margalló Ecologists in Action of Elche and UPV arrived in the morning after being notified by the Elche cleaning service. A turtle chose our coast to deposit a total of 109 eggs.
A total of 88 eggs have been relocated on the same beach to an area further from the shoreline so that the nest is in a safe place, while the rest have been moved to an incubator at the ARCA del Mar recovery center.
