This August, four Caretta caretta turtles were released after being nursed back to health by the LifeMedturtle team at the Cetacea Foundation Rescue Center in Riccione, Italy. Each of these turtles had been accidentally captured in trawl nets, but thanks to the swift actions of local fishermen and the care provided at the rescue center, they made a full recovery. After weeks of rehabilitation, they were strong enough to return to their natural habitat. This successful release is a reminder of the importance of marine conservation efforts and the impact we can have in protecting these magnificent creatures. Safe travels, Arianna, Mortadella, Nina, and Piadina!
